A travelling exhibition from SoTart contemporary artists. The hypothesis supporting 'everything is black or white' is based on the supposition that there only two options or alternatives for any given situation – alternatives which are mutually exclusive. When taken to its extreme this supposition becomes even more unyielding with the asertion that there is no alternative – there is only one option. These notions are widely prevalent in all aspects of daily life. Politics, religion, culture, race, identity and class (amongst others) are all prey to this dogma. It becomes something of an anachronism in this present age of diversity, human-rights, individuality and multi-culturalism. Each of the artists has responded to this premise by examining specific traits and placing their own interpretation into their work. This examination encompasses literal interpretations, psychological aspects, personality and identity, culture and class, and rules and regulations.
