Extended for an additional 2 weeks until Saturday 8 November my exhibition shows a series of sketches and photographs created in response to my day-to-day experiences.
I am intrigued and amazed by things I see in everyday life; therefore my work is inspired by my ordinary experience, which I record by sketching or with photographs. I combine images on the computer and in my mind – the resulting pictures, being a fusion of observation and imagination, often give me a greater insight into my feelings, and also provide me with a means to communicate my discoveries from the life I inhabit.
The techniques I use help me to develop as an artist and also benefit my wellbeing since they closely link with the concept of mindfulness. Drawing is the central focus me because it focuses observation: I enjoy sharing my approach with other people through my ‘Drawing for Wellbeing’ workshops – with the aim of helping them to discover a greater confidence in their own creative abilities.
