Jean Christensen, a New York artist now living in France, creates subtle, intricate and subversive collages using the waste and trash of a dying era. He re-imagines the world confronting globalised markets and marketeers with a re-invention, a transformation of their own images of manipulation. This exquisite work is highly iconoclastic, but also highly technical, using supermarket fliers, junk-mail and other detritus in a surreptitious and under-the-radar, yet deliberate and surprising way.
