Over the past 16 years, artist-filmmaker Kerry Baldry has been curating and organising this innovative series of artists’ moving images, each precisely one minute in length. These experimental works thoughtfully engage with the concept of time in cinema, challenging traditional narratives and exploring how much can be conveyed within sixty seconds. The programmes showcase an eclectic mix of work from artists at various stages of their careers, ranging from award-winning filmmakers to recent graduates.
Since August 2024, Close-Up Cinema has been presenting these 12 volumes in reverse order, offering a unique retrospective that invites viewers to explore the evolution of this extensive project. Tickets are now available at https://www.closeupfilmcentre.com/film_programmes/2024/one-minute-volume-nine
