Our First Micro Residency Takes place next Wednesday at Sidney Cooper Gallery, Canterbury we will be holding an OPEN CRIT 17:30 – 19:00 between our residency artists, and those who wish to bring a long work to discuss. An exciting opportunity to engage with fellow artists and peer networking.
The artists from the Micro- Residency will present their progress achieved in the day and we welcome others to bring along their own work in progress. Threads open crit platform is a space for work-in-progress to be discussed within a peer group. Open to all, attendees are encouraged to bring new approaches and thoughts to influence the work-in-progress discussed. This helps cement the peer to peer intention which is set at these crits.
This crit is open to all artists and not restricted by mediums or formats. We also wish to invite those who do not have work to present to come and take part in conversations surrounding the creation of contemporary art.

About THREADS and the MICRO-RESIDENCY PROJECT
Nomadic artist-led gallery, Threads, have teamed up with six partners across East Kent to increase recognition of artist-led activity in the region.
Having delivered over thirty visual art critiques across Kent, Threads have identified and want to address the untapped opportunity for development that exists in peer-to-peer critiques and residencies. To do so, Threads have curated a nine-month programme, bringing together cultural ambassadors to strengthen the connections for arts organisations across the region, highlighting East Kent a must-visit destination for contemporary art.
