We will be holding an Open Day on Sunday 14th January 2024, 10.30am – 3pm. Explore the site if you are thinking of entering our Little Forest Open Competition 2024 to display your work at Art in the Garden 2024.
AitG is an open studio style two week event in late spring, featuring the work of 20+ regional and national artists and makers in and around a three acre semi-wild meadow in the Hampshire countryside.
As part of this, they hold their Little Forest Open Competition, now in it’s 6th year, to find interesting artworks to show around the site. Past winners have included Lisa Traxler and Olana Light, while last years winner, Liz Clifford returns as one of the judges, along with Oliver Sumner, Manager of CVAN South East.
If you think your work is not suitable for an outdoor situation then think again. Last year we showed a ceramic installation, delicate wire hangings and even an oil painting along the woodland path.
There are numerous areas, all with a different feel, that may inspire you to create new work. Or find a space for work you have already created.
You may also find materials that you’d like to include in your work. *Conditions apply!!
The Open Day is also a great opportunity if you are interested in joining the Little Forest team that manages the site all year round, getting it ready for Art in the Garden in the late spring. Complete novices, enthusiastic amateurs and professionals with time to give, are all welcome.
Don’t forget your wellies!!
Sorry – STRICTLY NO DOGS (unless guide dogs)
The track is a bit hard to find. Here are links for the track entrance:
