Over 130 artists and makers are joining forces across the county in May and early June for a second year of ‘Open Studios Notts’. In addition, an exhibition at Rufford Craft Centre will showcase work from all areas and map the events (exhibition runs from 6 May to 9 June, with a preview event on 5 May 2-4pm). Whilst many artists will be inviting you into their studio spaces, others are clustering together to show a variety of work and a few established groups have a festival feel. Amidst the variety of settings, many artists will hold ‘have-a-go’ workshops or demonstrate working practices – all offer ‘opportunities to see and buy contemporary art and craft’. These cover: Worksop & Harley Artists Thoresby, Edwinstowe & Warsop Retford, Askham & Laneham Southwell, Upton, Newark & Maplebeck Mansfield & Kirkby-in-Ashfield Patchings & Gedling Artists Broxtowe Artists Lady Bay Arts Festival The initiative is supported by Nottinghamshire County Council Arts Development Service.
