A major retrospective of the work of the innovative graphic designer MacDonald ‘Max’ Gill comes to London this Autumn. Best known for his richly-coloured and highly detailed pictorial maps and the 1914 ‘Wonderground’ map of the London Underground, Max Gill was a highly influential figure in the field of graphic design in the early 20th century. This exhibition, exploring a career spanning four decades, displays the full range of his work across a range of disciplines. His intricate poster maps and prints provide an important record of a vanished age, whilst original artworks, architectural drawings and personal material that had previously lain undiscovered for more than half a century, provide an insight into the man himself. EVENTS: Thursday 19 September, 6-9pm – Preview Evening, Saturday 19 October, 2pm – Exhibition Tour
