Outside In is an exhibition of site-specific photographs taken by Jane Watt of the area surrounding the gallery Eleven Spitalfields in Princelet Street, London E1. Over the course of several months the artist visited domestic and commercial buildings in the immediate area of Spitalfields and took photographs of different views and vistas through windows. The photographs capture new vantage points of familiar public landmarks, urban architecture and streets. The images also reveal relationships between internal and external, private and public spaces in this vibrant and diverse area. The series of photographs are printed in one colour onto Perspex and backed with dichroic film. The film gives a subtle variation in colour and reflection of light. In addition to the exhibition of prints inside the gallery, a lightbox image is installed in a window further along Princelet Street. Outside In is presented by Dominic Berning and Eleven Spitalfields. It is part of the Concrete and Glass Festival.
