Acclaimed dance company Stacked Wonky will be Palace Intrusions artists in residence between 14th and 17th August 2008. The residency, entitled ‘You can't exhale now' is composed of six miniature performances by 4 men spanning 4 generations….drawn to the edge of the moat…..unable to swim home. All performances will start by the sluice on the Palace Moat (near the end of Silver Street) and each will be longer than the one before. You may also see the company making short informal forrays around the moat path and Palace Green. Palace Intrusions is a year long public art project conceived by Helen Ottaway and Melanie Thompson and produced by Artmusic. During the year (October 2007 – September 2008) local, national and international artists from different disciplines have been commissioned to create new work. All Palace Intrusions events are free. Palace Intrusions is funded by Arts Council England, Somerset County Council and Mendip District Council and supported by the Bishop's Palace and Gardens, Wells Museum, and Wells City Council. Artmusic is an Artsadmin Associate Artist.
