Paper works reflects the 15 month collaboration by 11 artists from Kent, showcasing selected works and retaining the experimental spirit of the project.
Run by founder members Niki Campbell & Lindsay Connors, the New Collaborations project is sponsored by a-n magazine.
The 11 artists have worked within the constraints of paper, exploring the possibilities of what a work on paper can be. Working collaboratively allowed interdisciplinary cross overs and enabled artists to work in areas outside of their usual practice, e.g. sound, film, performance and sculpture. It has also facilitated a fertile exchange and expansion of ideas.
Over the length of the project the artwork and ideas have been passed baton like between the group, allowing the works to evolve and expand. Throughout the project, artists recorded their experience on the a-n ‘Artists Talking’ blog.
Some of the participants have been selected in recent prestigious exhibitions such as the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2014, Jerwood Drawing Prize, MA Wimbledon Show at National Gallery.
