‘The timing and venue couldn’t be more appropriate with World Book Day and there isn’t a library, as cherished as the one where I grew up.
I have been part of so many changes over the last 30years in Harwood; it’s a beautiful, busy, close knit community.’
Serena attended a local Primary School as a child and studied Visual Art at Salford University. After struggling with reading and comprehension through life, she was diagnosed dyslexic at 37.
‘Reading and comprehension is so important in life and if illustration is magnetic in helping children enjoy literature of any form – then so be it.’
Library visitors can experience the juxtaposition of her illustrations, against the peaceful environment of the Library.
Serena now works from her studio in Egerton.
