Touching the Horizon is an ongoing project by photographer Paul Rogers documenting the changing face of Blackpool’s seafront. Conceived as an evolving photographic portrait and citing David E. Nye’s American Technological Sublime as a key influence, Rogers has spent the past 6 years photographing the construction works along the length of Blackpool’s promenade; a series of works which mark the biggest civil engineering endeavour undertaken in the town for over 100 years. Supercollider will curate Rogers’ collection of photographs, which currently equates to approximately 6000 images, presenting the collection in its entirety; delivering the audience a massive collection of visual information charting the works to re-shape the famous Golden Mile.
