What place does food have in our everyday lives? What can it tell us about society, tradition and history?
This exhibition is a celebration of food and photography, almost exclusively made up of discarded and unwanted photographs of people eating. Featuring images of public feasts to intimate meals, extravagant celebrations to mundane routines, this exhibition documents 100 years of food around the world and its place in our lives.
The photographs featured come from the substantial collection created by Chris Duffy. Gathered and curated over the past 20 years, he has now turned part of his home into a library of food related photographs, books, manuscripts and eating related ephemera. This free exhibition is the beginning of Chris’ commitment to share pieces of the collection, which he hopes will contribute to the dialogue about our food, and its place in our history and future.
