Over the past few months Switch core artist Justin Allen has been developing a new performance called One-Man Stage Piece. Taking the architecture of a studio theatre and the conventions of a theatre show as its starting-point, the piece invites both artist and audience to ask themselves a simple question: what am I doing here? Delicately poised between humour and unease through the vulnerability of a man alone on stage, One-Man Stage Piece sets out to bridge the gap established by the architecture and conventions inside which theatre happens. For this piece Justin is being mentored by outstanding artist Rajni Shah.
