Claire McDermott is a British artist living and working in London whose artwork combines plant morphology on spent flowers with sculpture. This series of sculptures were influenced by four pencil drawings of a spent Aster ‘amellus’ (common name Michaelmas Daisy), combining natural forms of the petals with manmade curved metal, creating a harmony between the two. Curator student, May Shetrit from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, will be contributing her international art world experience to this exhibition as she feels that these artworks are phenomenal in their sense of preservation.
