In this particular series the artist has sought to disrupt fundamental principles of photography, for Straniero doesn’t just take pictures, he fries them…literally! It is this unique technique of frying images in conjunction with adding trace elements of tape, thread and pin holes, that has the artist endlessly seeking the perfect combination of chance and control in his work. He successfully transforms traditional photographic narrative into a more colourful and distopian reconstruction. Straniero cleverly presents a carefully selected and beautifully manipulated body of images at Tenderpixel and viewers are invited to reassemble them into a story of their own making.
