G8artists is a group of 8 contemporary artists working in Leicestershire. ‘Pieces of Eight' is installed on eight, 8ft cubes in a vast and exciting new venue, the newly renovated Riding School, Calke Abbey, a National Trust Property. It introduces a future ‘Timescape' project by showing past work that typifies g8's creative approach. ‘Timescape' is a two year project working with the Trust to create exhibitions, site specific installations and public workshops looking at "the marks of time, industry and management interacting with the patterns and persistent energy of nature." The Summer Exhibition 2009 will show working drawings and experimental pieces with public workshops. The final show in the parkland and Riding School with an installation from public workshops is in summer 2010
