Polar Exploration is a simulation of the Arctic experience as Victoria J E Jones envisages it. She imagines the Arctic to be a blank space, space where hopes, desires, fears and flights of fancy can be projected and displaced. Polar Exploration is a space where mental shifts can be evoked. Sited at ATTIC in Cardiff, it articulates Jones’; interest in Gaston Bachelard’s notion of the attic as a space of clarity of mind and rationality………. Exhibition opening times: 12 – 5pm 8th*, 9th* , 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd June *by invitation only………… Friday 14th of June 2013 | 6:30pm – 9pm | Private View …………..Monday 10th June 2013 | 6:30pm – 7:30pm | Discussion about ‘The Space Between’ facilitated by Victoria J E Jones with selected guests also interested in polarity………..
