The body of work, which he started in 2017, is produced using a black paint made by the artist from chicken bones. By using this as his material for these monochrome paintings the audience experiences not only the depiction of chicken but also the presence within the artworks. In doing so his work becomes a dialogue between image and object, painting and sculpture.

Whilst focused on stories of chicken the paintings start to draw lines between different themes relating to our own existence; sometimes quite overtly in choosing to paint politicians with chicken or the scene of a flood at a chicken farm but at other times more subtle nods to spirituality and religion. Whilst these different subjects play out in the individual paintings the body of work as a whole can’t help but remind us of our own place in time and act as a reminder that we are all dust.
