Portrait Painting Masterclass with Jennifer Mcrae RSA. Hospitalfield is delighted to host a 5 day masterclass with the award winning portrait artist Jennifer Mcrae in July 2012. Jennifer will be concluding her month long residency here at Hospitalfield House by offering this wonderful opportunity for portrait painting enthusiasts. Set in the historical surroundings of Hospitalfield House, this promises to be a first class, unique, inspiring and memorable experience. The aim of this course is to encourage individual vision while strengthening skills in visual awareness and the practice of paint, the student creating initial studies both in drawing and painting as a means to express what is there. The emphasis is on both observation and instinct, allowing the painting to form through each student’s own creative thought processes.
