Use most commonly by visiting artists and in the edition section of the studio this two-day course is designed to cover the main areas of this simple and most direct way of printing.
During the two days you will cover both the technical and creative part of making reproductive images onto stones and proof printing them onto handmade specialist paper. This introductory workshop is designed for you to learn the basis of this traditional printing process. This workshop is open to all and offers an opportunity to work toward a number of possible outcomes. All basic materials such as use of a stone each for weekend along with proofing Ink & paper will be provided.
The Day will also include: Stone Preparation and graining along with explanation of hand drawn imagery in conjunction with the stone procedure. Basic colour mixing and proof printing.
This is workshop is tailor made to suit those who may wish to use the facilities at a later date.
