Taking place on Thursday 8 February, from 12-6 pm at Cambridge Junction, the Producers’ Edition: What the t*ch?! event will discuss the challenges, opportunities and considerations of making and touring artworks involving new and emerging technologies. Through a programme of speakers and panellists, we will delve into touring and funding models, provide case studies, and collate issues to inform a research programme that hopes to explore what new models for making and touring art/tech work might look like.
Registration opens at 12 noon, with time to engage with tech artworks throughout the day. The main sessions start at 1 pm, wrapping up at 4.45 pm, with extra time until 6 pm to grab a drink and have a chat.
Agenda
- 12 noon: Registration, networking and free time to engage with artworks by Frazer Merrick, Alexander Whitley, Mary Lovett, and CoDa Dance.
- 1pm: Welcome and introduction by Matt Burman (Cambridge Junction) and Rachel Drury (Collusion), chaired by Ros Coleman.
- 1:15pm: Talks from keynote speakers An-Ting Chang and Alexander Whitley.
- 1:45pm: Panel and discussion 1, The challenge of making and touring ‘work like this’, with Alexander Whitley, Rosie Cooper (Wysing Arts Centre), Matt Burman, Dr. Kirk Woolford (Anglia Ruskin University), and Hannah Lake (Arts Council England).
- 3:15pm: Case studies from Elise Philips (CoDa Dance), Ben Samuels (Limbik Theatre), Zaki Musa, and Frazer Merrick.
- 3:45pm: Panel and discussion 2, New ways of working with case study speakers, and Lucy Bayliss (DanceEast).
- 4:50pm: Drinks, networking, visiting artworks.
- 6pm: Close
