Li-E Chen: Proposition For Making A Silent Opera At An Invisible Museum
Join this experiment in new opera making and become part of the process in developing an opera’s aesthetic, with artist Li-E Chen.
Proposition For Making A Silent Opera At An Invisible Museum is one of four participatory-conversation experiments that Li-E Chen is conducting for her research and development of a silent opera project on the life and art of Tehching Hsieh. This event focuses on the development of an opera’s draft libretto, which is written in the form of propositions for thinking and action.
Li-E Chen’s one-year research and development project ‘Silent Opera on the Life and Art of Tehching Hsieh’ (2017 – 2018) is supported using public funding by Arts Council England and Southbank Centre’s China Changing Festival. Further support is provided by Live Art Development Agency, Tête à Tête Opera Festival, Contemporary Political Theory Research Group, Royal Holloway, University of London and Improbable’s Devoted and Disgruntled UK.
