Melanie Young is a visual artist based in Cornwall. Using a process of building thing layers, she creates a patterened and decorative surface using paint and gold leaf. These are then scratched back revealing the process behind the painting.Melainie’s paintings are figurative and explore themes of the familial and domestic, which are contrasted with the bold, vibrant patterns in her work.
