In modern times we are bombarded by unseen information, surrounded by radio waves, leaking headphones, wireless connectivity and fading frequencies. Rare Love filters the audible sounds from some of these transmissions. The accompanying sculpture observes a viewing post out to sea and the notion of sea gazing firmly roots the piece in the Romantic tradition. The work dispels the idea that the scientific process is an unemotional one and reminds the viewer that the human pursuit of discovery and invention is inspired by passion and love.Contributors include H G Wells, Joseph Conrad, John Logie Baird, Guilermo Marconi and several others.
