'Recycled by Design' explores the creative potential of recycling in the visual arts. The project has given people in Surrey the chance to work with artists on a theme that is vital and timely. Taking place during 2008, these community partnerships in Guildford and Woking make way for the showcase exhibition at Guildford House Gallery. This is complemented by a series of installations at The Lightbox, Woking, displaying the best of art and design working with found and recycled materials. Five artists have been selected to create work throughout the building and in the courtyard. These contemporary artworks raise awareness of recycling through a showcase of excellence in the visual arts.
