The multi-disciplinary artists Larain Briggs, Jamie Limond, and Dawn Hesketh-Joslin are exhibiting and participating in ‘Reflection’ an artists’ residency and exhibition, incorporating a large two-way mirror installation, paintings, sculpture and print. The three artists are fine art doctorate students with diverse backgrounds in education, architecture and engineering.
They are collectively interested and inspired by psychology, philosophy and exploration of the inner realm. Larain Briggs, the organiser, is a local artist exploring the potential of art to create a sense of well-being and transform the self in response to a rapidly changing and destabilised world. Jamie Limond is profoundly influenced by a life-altering diagnosis that heightened his awareness of mortality. As an experienced sailor and navigator, his journeys inform his research and creative practice. Dawn Hesketh-Joslin focuses on the interplay of constructed forms, colour, light, and shadow, exploring the boundaries and intersections of architecture, art, and human experience.
The artists will be based in The Gallery at Room 6. A large two-way mirror installation is situated in Room 9, and an exhibition of paintings and prints extends throughout the centre.
The exhibition and residency is a free event; it runs from the 1st of February to the 29th of February, with a schedule of events attached to the poster.
Opening Event 3rd of February 1pm – 3pm – Free refreshments.
Closing Event 24th of February 10am – 2pm – Free refreshments
