response: Print-work suspended throughout the colonnades of a chapel; three contemporary photographers respond to the site. An exhibition with a difference, taking place in & around the Anglican Chapel, Kensal Green Cemetery. Holding the exhibition in an area exposed to the elements challenges the orthodoxy of the ‘white wall’ gallery, while reconnecting the work directly with its environment. As an essentially abandoned space, the Anglican Chapel presents both artist and visitor with an opportunity to breathe life into somewhere often overlooked. Each photographer has created a body of work stimulated by their encounters and extended contemplations of the cemetery.
