“Winter Light” A response to the Nature of the Newport Wetlands by artist Richard Corbett. Hopefully, this small selection of paintings will give you a taste of what I have experienced on my walks around the reserve. I am working on many more in my studio and will be showing some of those here in May and then a much larger collection will form my first major London solo show at The Smithfield Gallery from 24th- 29th November. This has been very generously supported by the RSPB. 20 % of all proceeds from the sales of these works and at future exhibitions in this centre and in London will be donated to the RSPB in support of their Lifelong Learning Initiative in Newport. The RSPB have also teamed up with the St. David’s Foundation Hospice, Newport and we will be launching that union on May 21st in this centre. Exhibitions of artists and patients’ work have been planned for 2009. www.richardcorbett.biz
