ROSIE MAYELL | NEW PHOTOGRAPHS LAUNCH of POP UP EXHIBITION at LOAFING, Victoria Park Village, E9. Images from Asia and Europe taken in the past 18 months. Curious about people and the quirks of everyday life. Rosie studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art. Her photographs are often voyeuristic in nature with a strong reference to painting and a nod to Martin Parr, Sophie Calle and Henri Cartier – Bresson. “I am interested in recording the beauty of the banal and the everyday… the dirty and the decaying… the exotic and the unknown… ultimately things that amuse or touch me (interactions, details, light, walks, gestures, shadows, signs, windows, graffiti, the sea) …whether they are at home or abroad, familiar or not”.
