Festival of art & textiles in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Saltaire: open houses, makers fair, workshops, exhibitions and more! 28th-30th May 2011. During the late May bank holiday weekend, the village of Saltaire hosts the 5th Saltaire Arts Trail. Residents of the village’s Grade II listed houses open their kitchens, living rooms, hallways and bedrooms to become unique gallery spaces displaying some of the finest art and craft from across the region. The Maker’s Fair is a unique shopping experience, with over 40 quality designers and makers selling handmade items and there’s also plenty to keep little hands busy, with activities ranging from felt-making to den-building. We’ve even got what’s possible the world’s smallest cinema! There are exhibitions to challenge and inspire, and everything in between, from canal boats to vintage fashion. Quite simply, it’s a weekend packed with creativity and inspiration, so come and join us to soak up the bank holiday atmosphere.
