An accompanying exhibition of smaller sculptures will be on show in the Salon at RBS to coincide with the new work in the Sculpture Forecourt. Sean Henry’s sculptures are like a three-dimensional painting; having originally trained as a ceramicist, painting his sculptures has come naturally using oil paint on the bronze surface. Henry says, paint “reflects life, makes the work much more relevant somehow.” (The Guardian Weekend Magazine 02.12.01)
