SEE-SAW See-Saw opens at neo:gallery22 Bolton, BL1 2AL, Thursday 28th August with a special preview when artists will be available to talk about their work on Saturday 30th August 2 -4pm, all welcome! The exhibition brings together ten artists from the Northwest to show work using many varied approaches to the theme of GAMES and PLAY. From Marcel Duchamp to Martin Creed, artists have used humour and playfulness in their work, riffing on words and language, rules and traditions, playing games with art and the expectations of its audience. The title refers of course to an old children’s playground game, but can also be the present and past tense of looking. The artists involved will make the most of what they see and saw, amazing and bewildering us in turns. There will be a mixture of already existing work and some made especially for the show. The theme has its lighter side but the artists are serious, working in a wide variety of media and at different stages in their careers. As Sherlock Holmes used to say, the game’s afoot. The exhibition, runs til Sunday 29th September. Opening times: Thursday to Sunday 11am – 5pm Press Enquiries: [email protected] 07855369522
