“Solace of the Sea” is Sue’s artistic response to Tulip’s moving story of finding solace in cold water swimming after losing two babies mid-pregnancy. This collection encapsulates the imagined experience of meeting one’s baby in a watery world, evoking the brief moments of life they carried. Sue’s paintings bring beauty to the pain and grief of this deeply emotional experience, highlighting an aspect of loss that is rarely discussed or seen. ‘Solace of the Sea’ aims to connect those in our community who have experienced baby loss, helping them feel less lonely and isolated, with that in mind there will be a resource and information area signposting where to go for further help. Please note that the subject matter may be upsetting for some. There will be a hosted artist talk featuring Tulip Mazumdar, where we will discuss the story behind the paintings and the themes of the exhibition.
Tickets are free from Eventbrite, booking is recommended as spaces limited. https://lnkd.in/ejEhfxtE
