Four artists from the North Yorkshire Open Studios event will show their work. During the weekends of 20/21 and 26/27/28 June, resident artist Angela Chalmers, Angela Knipe, Ian Mitchell and Wendy Tate will utilise the gallery space as their studio venue. You will see artworks ranging from painting and drawing to digital art and textile based jewellery. Angela Chalmers and Wendy Tate both use the process of painting to explore the human form. Angela’s work evolves through a method of pouring and dripping water-based media onto heavyweight papers. Wendy works with oils and acrylics, and often incorporates beeswax into her paintings. Angela Knipe is a craftsperson who is interested in experimenting with cloth, felt and wool and creates a range of bright colourful jewellery. Ian Mitchell produces landscape prints that are contemporary, yet evoke nostalgia due to their qualities reminiscent of the old 1930’s travel posters.
