In search of satisfaction for societies innate curiosity, Steven Dickie undertakes a creative lab residency in July at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. His current research concerns explore human knowledge (gathering, storage and usage) and societies potential futures. Pursuing a trajectory to all knowledge, he seeks ways of gathering and processing of greater volumes of information. Screened in relation to Dickie’s Creative Lab is the Alain Resnais documentary, Toute la mémoire du monde, highlighting concerns that are key within his artistic practice, namely; information management, universal knowledge, future social structures and municipal architecture and design.
