‘…a group of artists who stray beyond their comfort zones…’ Seeking new opportunities to show their work, this diverse group of Cambridge artists present an eclectic mix of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and print. With work ranging from the personal to the political, engaging with notions of identity, myth, memory and the moment, this show offers the viewer a rich experience. Mohammed Djazmi’s dark visions explore the general effects of immoral politics on society; transience and the fleeting moment are explored by Paul Hawdon; Myths and the role they play in our deepest fears and desires are at the foundation of the work of Rosemary Catling and Stefanie Reichelt. Jeremy Mulvey’s paintings depict moments of enchantment, when the ordinary is transformed, releasing new possibilities of being, while Golnar Malek’s work records moments of intimacy in dance. Sue Law’s cast resin pieces evoke the body through absence. Tess Recordon’s lyrical abstract paintings reveal a landscape reimagined through memory. Suzie Olczak’s photographic work relates to how we experience light, while repetitive brushstrokes record a meditative painting process from Jane Pryor. This diverse group share a common passion to communicate their experience of life – political, spiritual, emotional – you are sure to find work here that speaks to you personally.
