‘T-Land’ is a site-specific installation at the View, where sculptural organic forms on the ground are enclosed in a felted covering. The physical condition and appearance of the forms has changed during firing, they have become brittle, shrunken and aged. The obscure texture of the form invites the spectator to view closer and propose its origin. The empty fragile cavities remind us of an abandoned insect hive or barnacle shells, capturing the moment when something living was once there. ‘T-Land’ conveys the vulnerability of a living being; questioning the significance of the prenatal experience and its impact on postnatal life. The artwork is constantly undergoing change, morphing and interacting with its surroundings and never becoming permanent; seeking a moment of emotional/intuitive inquiry from the spectator.
