Showcasing the material innovation and exquisite skill of over 70 member makers of the . This two-week multi-disciplinary show features woven and stitched textiles, ceramics, wood-carving, metal, glass, stone-carving, printmaking and mixed media works from some of the UK’s finest established and emerging craft practitioners.

Founded in 1887, the Society of Designer Craftsmen upholds the traditions of its infamous forebears Walter Crane, William De Morgan and William Morris, by offering a fine art exhibiting platform to a cohort of exceptionally skilled and innovative designer-makers. The Society of Designer Craftsmen’s exhibitions shine a spotlight on hand skills, and craft livelihoods that are often under-represented in the visual arts mainstream.

Designer Craft at Bankside has been curated to reveal both the personal narratives and cultural resonances in individual works, but also the sense of belonging, community and dialogue rooted within the purpose of the Society.
