This class is for beginners and improvers, as well as tapestry weavers wanting to take their weaving to the next level.
Learn how to prepare a tapestry frame and get to grips with plain weave, then start introducing multiple weft threads and weaving various shapes. Explore the use of colour and tones by experimenting with blending, along with other fundamentals such as hatching and dovetailing.
There will be information on weaving design and settings, as well as how best to finish off your work. For those with some experience, there’ll be the opportunity to try adding texture, and you’ll gain further tips to help you improve your weaving.
Bridget Lane is an award-winning tapestry weaver. Her contemporary pieces have been shown in exhibitions in the UK and Australia. She is a selected Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and Find a Maker.
