North Yorkshire Open Studios 2010 Three artists from the North Yorkshire Open Studios event will utilise the gallery space as their studio venue. During the weekends of 11/12/13 & 19/20 June you can meet and talk with the artists and gain an insight into how their work is produced. Tessa Bunney has a particular interest in different landscapes and the way they are shaped by human activity. Working closely with communities and individuals, she explores people’s relationships to the environment. Her work draws attention to observing details which we usually let slip by unnoticed and aims to contribute to the ongoing debate about the changing nature of rural life. Angela Knipe is a craftsperson interested in experimenting with cloth, felt and wool to create jewellery, mainly in the form of brooches and necklaces. Kirsty Stevens is a printmaker specialising in etching, aquatint and linocuts. Her work reflects a love of drawing and mark-making and she enjoys the emphasis that monochrome working gives to the textual aspects of the work.
