A striking sculpture by Carolyn Corfield, derived from the concept of the Borg Queen, serves to acknowledge recent remarkable developments in the field of prosthetics which have created significant changes in perception as the 21st Century heralds an era of empowerment for the physically challenged. Of late prosthetics have produced superhuman achievement not least within the realms of sport whilst bionic prosthetics of the future predict major transformation in both civilian and military activities.
Carolyn’s compelling sculpture exploring this perception flux is currently on show within the Cupola gallery. Established in 1991 its exhibiting artists embrace a full range of disciplines.
