‘The calm before the storm’ is an exhibition of drawing studies from Sam Clift’s latest project ‘Light and Dark.’ The drawings have been inspired by captured scenes and moments from early 20th century horror films for their emphasis on atmosphere and tension, where there is a sense of the real and the artificial created by the camera. These will later serve as a platform to explore and develop narratives formed through memory, emotions and significance.
