An afternoon of performance interventions based on the writing of Sir Thomas Browne. The artists use performance, sound-work, text and sculpture to bring imagery and ideas from 'The Garden of Cyrus' and 'Urne Burial' by Sir Thomas Browne onto the street outside Dragon Hall in Norwich. Expect chance encounters with an elegantly gloved lady, mysterious invitations to hear a stranger's heart, floral chess, a perambulating tree and writing raked onto the ground. The artists taking part are: Patricia Derrick / Stephanie Douet / Chris Dugrenier / Olga Jurgenson / Sally Lemsford & Sally Newham / Simon Raven/ Harald Smykla. A text by Krzysztof Fijalkowski has been commissioned for this event and will be distributed to passers by. This event is one of the first results to emerge from an 18 month period of research that is being undertaken by Dominique Rey. Dominique also has an exhibition in Dragon Hall which has also been influenced by Sir Thomas Browne. The exhibition is open from 4th – 11th July 10 – 5 pm Tuesday to Saturday.
