Northern Potters Association UK member, Carolyn Corfield, a mixed media sculptor specializing in ceramics, features in this exciting event taking place on the island of Santorini, a place steeped in history and probable site of long lost Atlantis. The ‘Living Earth’ theory, known as the ‘Gaia Theory’ postulated by Lovelock in 1979, suggests the Earth is not simply a planet of dead rock but a living, constantly changing organism. One of Carolyn’s pieces (Image) symbolises that moment in time when our world came into existence and the clock started ticking. Work is displayed throughout Santorini in galleries, castle ruins, caves and even an old winery.
