Working within their Bone Laboratory and supported by zooarchaeologist Dr Richard Thomas (Acting Head of the School of Archaeology and Ancient History) since September 2014, Jo has created a body of work that explores the idea of bones as relics and questions how we value objects, relics and archaeological items in a contemporary context. Through the residency Jo has explored ideas through making, including large and small scale sculptures, drawings, photographs, mechanical devices, scans and x-rays.
The exhibition runs until 30th June 2016. Jo has kept a blog of the project at http://jodacombe.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Reliquary.
The Reliquary Project is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
