Kathy Dalwood brings her celebrated Plaster Bust collection to Pitzhanger Manor to stage a highly unusual sculptural banquet. Casting directly from real objects, Kathy Dalwood inventively combines modern materials with the tradition of the plaster bust to create her unique sculptural characters. Their remarkable costumes – constructed from materials as diverse as model buildings, haberdashery and plumbing and electrical parts, as well as lace, fabrics, buttons and braids – reference classical and contemporary architecture whilst also displaying the influence of the world of extreme sculptural fashion.This large-scale installation in the Soane Suite at Pitzhanger Manor will see her characters enjoying a luxurious banquet, with everything from exotic fruits to decanters of wine transformed into bright white plaster.
