In his latest show, The Shadow of Days, artist Tim Patrick presents a collection of large- scale drawings and paintings which focus on an examination of the everyday, in the light of faith and the transcendent.
Finding its inspiration in the ordinary, the exhibition moves between laundrettes and bathrooms, street scenes and restaurants, suggesting tensions between the physical and spiritual in the places and situations encountered in the contemporary world.
Scenes of washing and the shower call to mind baptism and an evocation of cleansing both body and soul.
Having studied traditional portrait painting in Florence and a recent graduate of The Royal Drawing School in London, Tim’s work reflects a tension between the admiration of the past and the encounter with the present.
