This ‘Me’ of Mine is a touring contemporary art exhibition which looks at self in relation to context. It is funded by a grant from the Arts Council England and private sponsorship by HomeinOne.com in a public/private partnership to support the arts in the UK. This ‘Me’ of Mine showcases work by: Aly Helyer, Edd Pearman, Jane Boyer, Darren Nixon, Hayley Harrison, Melanie Titmuss, Annabel Dover, Kate Murdoch, David Minton, Anthony Boswell, David Riley, Sandra Crisp, Sarah Hervey, Shireen Qureshi, and Cathy Lomax. The exhibition will travel to four venues: APT Gallery, Strange Cargo|Georges House Gallery, Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery and The Art School Gallery at Ipswich Museum. Stage three of a four venue tour begins next week at Kaleidoscope Gallery in Sevenoaks. There are several ‘unknowns’ involved in the third venue – the space, the impact and value of using QR codes in an art exhibition, and the response from the audience without an invigilator present; issues of living in a digital age. ‘Artists in Conversation’, 6 to 6:30pm opening night on the 16th, will be about ‘space’. A companion book, This ‘Me’ of Mine: Self, Time and Context in the Digital Age, including interviews with the artists, essays by symposium panellists and other writers will be published in conjunction with the project.
